How we handle your information

What this policy covers

This policy describes what Texas Business Home Auto Insurance, a brand of Deschenes Financial Services, collects through this website and what we do with it. It covers the quote request form, the contact form, and the ordinary technical records a web server keeps.

It does not cover the information a carrier collects once you have a policy with them. Each insurance company has its own privacy notice, and we will point you to it when we place your coverage.

What we collect

When you request a quote we collect your name, email address, phone number and ZIP code, the lines of insurance you are interested in, and anything you write in the message box. Date of birth, gender and how you found us are optional, and are used only where a carrier needs them to rate a policy.

When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number and your message. Nothing else.

Automatically, with either form, we record the page you submitted from, the page that referred you, your IP address and your browser’s user agent string. These exist to investigate spam and abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.

What we do with it

Your submission is stored in this website’s own database so that a licensed agent can respond and so we have a record of the request.

It is also sent to Salesforce, the customer system our agency runs on. Salesforce hosts this data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.

To quote your coverage we pass the details a carrier needs to the insurance companies we approach for you. That is the purpose of the request, and it is the only routine sharing we do.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to lead brokers, data brokers or marketing list companies.

Third-party services on this site

Three outside services are involved in running this site. Each receives some data directly from your browser.

• Google reCAPTCHA protects the forms from automated abuse. Google receives your IP address and information about how you interact with the page, and sets its own cookies or equivalent storage. Use is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Maps is embedded on the contact page so you can find the office. Loading that page loads content from Google, which can see your IP address and set storage in your browser. The same Google policies apply. If you would rather not load it, the address is written out in text beside the map and in the footer of every page.
• Salesforce stores your enquiry as described above, as our processor.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics or tracking tags. WordPress sets a cookie only when a member of staff signs in to the admin area.

The reCAPTCHA and Google Maps components described above set their own storage. That is the extent of third-party storage on this site today.

If we add analytics or advertising in future, this section will name what we added and what it collects, and the date below will change.

Contacting you, and how to stop it

The consent box on the forms records that you agreed to be contacted about your request by phone, text or email. You can withdraw that at any time — reply to any message from us, or call the office on 855-404-0017 — and we will stop.

While you are a client we may contact you about your policy and its renewal. Any marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from marketing does not stop service messages about a policy you hold.

How long we keep it

Quote and contact requests are kept while there is a business or legal reason to keep them. Insurance agencies in Texas have record-keeping obligations that outlast the enquiry itself, and where those apply we keep the record for as long as they require. After that it is deleted.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email mark@tbhains.com or call 855-404-0017 and we will handle it.

As an insurance agency we are a financial institution under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and the privacy of the non-public personal information you give us is regulated under it. If you would like our GLBA privacy notice in full, ask and we will send it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and sits behind a web application firewall. Submissions are stored in a database that is not reachable from the public internet, and access to the admin area is limited to agency staff.

No website can promise perfect security. If we discover a breach affecting your information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging insurance. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
